When Life Gets Messy: 6 Training Hacks for busy AF humans

We all have those days. You know, the ones where your to-do list rivals an ALDI receipt, and the weight of your responsibilities feels like you've just deadlifted a small car. Squeezing in a workout on those days? It feels like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

It's easy to feel overwhelmed, to let training slide down the priority list, and to convince yourself that you simply don't have the time or energy.

But hold onto your protein shake, because we’ve got a different take.

The Challenge of Prioritising Your Well-Being

If you're struggling to prioritise your training, guess what? You’re not alone. Many people find it difficult to carve out time for themselves amidst the chaos of work, family, and the million other things demanding their attention.

- Feeling overwhelmed: The never-ending cycle of tasks can leave you feeling more drained than your phone battery at 2%.

- No outlet for stress: Without a healthy way to channel your stress, it can build up and affect every aspect of your life, including your training. Ever snapped at your computer for not loading fast enough? Yep, that’s stress talking.

-Lack of support: With a million other things you ‘should be’ doing instead of training, it’s easy to feel selfish for making time for yourself.

Let's Get to the Crux of How You Overcome This Feeling, Shall We?!

At MWBC, we get it. Our coaches aren't here to just hand you a program and tell you to "do better." We’re here to listen, understand your unique struggles, and help you find solutions that actually work for you. You’re a human, after all (not a robot—despite maybe looking like one during your last squat cycle, wink wink). At MWBC, we believe in asking the right questions:

- What's really stopping you from following your program? Is it time constraints, lack of motivation, or something deeper? (Is Netflix holding you hostage?)

- What obstacles are you facing outside the gym that are impacting your performance inside the gym? Is it that 5pm meeting that miraculously gets scheduled at 4:30pm? Or is it that coffee has been your breakfast for the 7 business days?

- What habits or behaviors could be holding you back from reaching your full potential? Are you stuck in a doom-scroll spiral? When was the last time you slept more than 6 hours?

- Do you just need a change of pace, some extra support, or to just sit at the gym and pat a doggo? (We feel that need on a soul level)

By digging deeper into these questions, we can identify the root causes of your struggles and develop a plan to overcome them.

Collaboration, Not Dictatorship

At MWBC, we believe in working collaboratively with you, empowering you to take ownership of your journey.

We offer guidance, support, and expertise, but ultimately, you're in the driver’s seat (so buckle up!)

All the warm and fuzzies aside, you can love training (when you eventually get there), but if you’re struggling to get your butt through the door, we have some next-level hacks to make it happen.

Hacks to Make Training (ACTUALLY) Happen

Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. Here are some hacks to fit training into your jam-packed schedule:

1. Train first thing (6am anyone!?): Yes, it sounds brutal, but it’s like ripping off a bandaid. Get it done and enjoy the smug satisfaction all day.

2. Don’t go home after work – head straight to training: Your couch is a sneaky temptress. Avoid it by making the gym your first stop.

3. Plan to leave your desk on your lunch break: Sunshine and endorphins – a perfect combo. Your emails can wait, trust us.

4. Arrange to meet a training partner: For some reason, it’s harder to let someone else down than it is to let ourselves down. Buddy up and show up.

5. Put it in your calendar: Treat it like an unmissable meeting. Don’t get dragged into that 5pm work meeting that magically appears at 4:30pm.

6. Stash a gym bag in your car or at work: Having your gear ready to roll removes one more excuse to bail. Be prepared and dodge those "I forgot my shoes" moments (but if you do, we have spares - they’re just a tiny bit stinky)

Remember: You are capable of incredible things, both inside and outside the gym. Let us help you unlock your full potential and create a life that is healthy, balanced, and fulfilling. And hey, a little laughter along the way never hurt anyone!

If you're not an MWBC fam and you're reading this blog nodding, thinking, "I need some of this support and accountability in my life," we got you, BOO!
