You might find them at the end of your workout, but don't underestimate their importance for our overall performance. Accessories play a crucial role in our journey as lifters and keeping us healthy.
Why we do our accessories at MWBC:
They can shape our bodies, impacting hypertrophy to areas we need it as well as allowing us to stay balanced and not overuse particular areas that are dominant in weightlifting.
Accessories expose us to different movement patterns, expanding our skills beyond weightlifting and keeping us athletic for everyday life.
They help us target specific muscle groups and motor patterns that need a little extra love.
Ever struggled with maintaining your balance or centre of of mass during a lift? Accessories can address that by allowing you to get stronger in your weak points.
They expose any imbalances between our left and right sides, helping us build a symmetrical strength foundation, this in turn can reduce injury risk.
And let's not forget the joy of non-barbell challenges that accessories bring to our workouts! We get to work hard without worrying about the technicality of things and just push.
Accessories can even enhance speed, power, and other movement mechanisms that Olympic lifts alone can't.
Now, we won't lie to you. Accessories won't magically show instant results. But they are the secret X factor that keeps us healthy and stronger as lifters.
