MWBC Standards: Asking for Help & Embracing the Weightlifting Process
Welcome back to the Melbourne West Standards series, where we continue to explore the values that underpin our weightlifting community. In part two, we focus on the importance of seeking help when needed and embracing the weightlifting process. At Melbourne West, we believe in the power of a supportive community to enhance our training and development. Let's dive in!
Firstly, we encourage you to ask for help whenever you need it. Whether you're uncertain about proper form, programming adjustments, or simply seeking a spotter for safety, our coaches and teammates are here to support you. Don't hesitate to reach out, as we believe that fostering a culture of open communication and support leads to better progress and a stronger bond within our community.
Additionally, we emphasize the value of embracing the weightlifting process over fixating on immediate outcomes. Weightlifting is a journey filled with challenges and triumphs. By focusing on the process, we learn to appreciate each step, celebrating growth and finding joy in the pursuit of mastery. Remember, the journey itself is where the true transformation happens. Trust the process, trust yourself, and let the results take care of themselves.
Now, we're thrilled to announce our upcoming event: the Melbourne West in-house Lift Off! On Saturday, May 20th, at 10 am, you'll have the opportunity to lift heavy weights in a supportive environment alongside your fellow lifters and coaches. The Lift Off is designed for those who prefer a non-competitive setting but still crave the exhilaration of challenging themselves. Speak with your coach to ensure your programming aligns with this exciting event.
As we conclude part two of our Melbourne West Standards series, we encourage you to embrace the supportive community we've cultivated. Together, we can elevate each other's training experiences, celebrate victories, and overcome obstacles. Stay tuned for the final part of our series, where we'll delve into chalk etiquette, the importance of showing up for your team, and prioritizing safe technique over heavy loads.
Join us in building a thriving weightlifting community that values support, growth, and camaraderie. Together, let's continue to strive for greatness on and off the platform.
Stay Strong,
-The MWBC Coaching Team
